Safe & Sustainable Apparel Ink

The Sapphire SB Series apparel ink for Tagless Pad Printing is guaranteed safe. Independent laboratories regularly test the Sapphire SB Series ink to meet strict US and international regulations. In addition, SB series ink has been tested against all major apparel manufacturer’s restricted substance list (RSL) standards. The SB ink has been certified to not contain heavy metals, BPA, restricted phthalates and to not cause skin irritation.

Oeko-tex Eco -Passport

Our SB Series apparel ink is certified safe. ECO PASSPORT by OEKO-TEX® is an independent certification for chemicals, colorants, and accessories used in the manufacturing of textiles and leather articles. Each individual substance in the chemical products meets the statutory requirements and that it is not harmful to human health. ECO PASSPORT can certify all chemical products such as textile and leather chemicals, colorants and auxiliaries as well as corresponding formulations that are used in the textile, leather and clothing industries and which meet the strict guidelines.

NAMSA Skin Irritation Study

Inkcups SB Series ink is tested by NAMSA to not cause skin irritation in our apparel ink. NAMSA delivers high quality, competitive, on-time medical research services. Samples submitted on garments are tested thoroughly adhering to strict quality guidelines.

CPSIA

The SB Series ink is certified free of heavy metals and phthalates. This landmark consumer product safety law amended CPSA in 2008 and provided CPSC with significant new regulatory and enforcement tools as part of amending and enhancing several CPSC statutes, including the Consumer Product Safety Act. The CPSIA included provisions addressing, among other things, lead, phthalates, toy safety, durable infant or toddler products, third-party testing, and certification, tracking labels, imports, ATVs, civil and criminal penalties and SaferProducts.gov, a publically-searchable database of reports of harm.

California Proposition 65

The SB Series apparel ink is California Prop 65 compliant. Proposition 65, officially known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986, was enacted as a ballot initiative in November 1986. The proposition protects the state’s drinking water sources from being contaminated with chemicals known to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm, and requires businesses to inform Californians about exposures to such chemicals.

ATSM

Our SB Series ink is certified safe for both children and adult jewelry, Clause 8 Total Elements Screening in Paint and Surface Coatings. ASTM International, formerly known as American Society for Testing and Materials, is an international standards organization that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services.

RoHS

The Restriction of Hazardous Substances Directive 2002/95/EC, (RoHS 1), short for Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, was adopted in February 2003 by the European Union. This directive restricts (with exceptions) the use of six hazardous materials in the manufacture of various types of electronic and electrical equipment. It is closely linked with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE) 2002/96/EC which sets collection, recycling and recovery targets for electrical goods and is part of a legislative initiative to solve the problem of huge amounts of toxic electronic waste.

EN71 specifies safety requirements for toys. Compliance with the standard is legally required for all toys sold in the European Union. Our SB Series ink complies with all safety standards for EN71.

Inkcups meets the requirements of all major garment manufacturers. Our ink does not contain any restricted substances provided by each corporation. We comply with Nike, Adidas, Puma, Under Armour, and more.

Certified by the United States Government

Inkcups is a registered vendor for the United States Government. The vendor verification allows our products to be sold to US government entities for a wide variety of manufacturing processes.
